PSA News

Dear TIS parents,

The cherry blossoms are starting to appear and it looks like Spring has finally sprung! As well as bringing welcome warmth to the weather and wonderful colour to the city, it’s also a reminder that our biggest fund-raising event of the year is just around the corner. The TIS Cherry Blossom Fair is a wonderful, fun PSA event which gives everyone a chance to participate in and enjoy being a part of our diverse and dynamic community.

For the past few months, the CBF committee have been hard at work preparing for the big day. Please take a look at the information below to see how you can also enjoy being a part of this community-wide event.

Cherry Blossom Fair: Saturday 23rd April

The spring package was sent home earlier this week, and the posters have been sent with your children today. We hope everyone can start selling raffle tickets during the spring break and afterward. CBF is our school’s biggest fund-raising event, so we kindly ask for your support in selling many tickets!

CBF Volunteers needed!

Whilst each country and baked goods booth is asking for your spare time to help, we also need your help in Games, Arts & Crafts, Tombola & Cotton Candy, and Bargain Bazaar booth.  Please give us at least one hour of your time on the day of the fair, so that we can run all activities and sales throughout the event.

If you can help, please contact:
Katja Otter (G1, G7 & G8 mom) or Reiko Kondo (K1 & G5 mom)

Used Book and Bargain Bazaar donations: Collection starts AFTER spring break!

Drop off dates for the Used Book Sale and Bargain Bazaar are listed on the flyers below. We would like to ask for your co-operation by sticking to these appointed days to make it easier for the entire logistics process.

Parent Education: CPR Training

Sincere thanks go to the school nurse, Megumi, and the Tokyo fireman who jointly conducted the CPR workshop on Friday, March 19th, at TIS. There were 11 parents and middle school students who received CPR certification as a result of completing the workshop. Megumi did a wonderful job to coordinate and present this vital and relevant information to the TIS community.
Thank you so much, Megumi!
