A great venue, fabulous weather and great sportsmanship where the perfect ingredients for this year’s sports day!

K1 – Grade 4 students participated in fun activities, where they used their motor skills to complete stations in running, jumping, throwing, catching, and balancing. During our Athletics unit, students in grades K1 to Grade 1 practiced and performed in stations: Hurdles, Jumbo Speed Stacking, Big Ball Circuit, Zig-zag Run, Jumping in Pants, Target Feather, Egg and Spoon, Relay Race, and Toss Ring. In Grade 2 to 4, they also practiced the Soccer Shot and Hockey Shot, and the grand finale activity on the day, the Tug-of-War.

Apart from physical skills, we have also worked on developing students’ attitudes of good sportsmanship, commitment, cooperation, being principled and building strong team spirit. All participants expressed great attitude during Sports Day.

The older students in the school competed in a full Heptathlon, where they participated in 100M sprint, Javelin, Shot put, 1500M running, High Jump, Long Jump and relay events. We saw some remarkable performances, and every student should be congratulated for their efforts and for trying their very best.

We finished the day with an exciting whole – Middle School relay where the Blue House quickly took the lead. They hung onto the lead throughout the race, and eventually crossed the line in first place giving them some extra points on the final score sheet.

As we’d like to further improve the event, we would kindly ask if you could complete the following form where applicable.

A special thank you goes out to our volunteer parents that helped with the refereeing and to those parents that took photos of the event.
We hope that parents, students and TIS staff had a memorable day and would like to thank our school community for their support!
