Dear Parents



You will have received an email (Student Led Conferences Procedure) from Maki on Monday but here is the procedure just in case you didn’t receive it.

Please note that there will be no parking on the school grounds during these conferences. Children will remain at school until after their conference and then go home with parents. There will be no school buses after school on this day. If you are unable to attend, please make alternative pick up arrangements for your child(ren).

K1 and K2 students will need to be collected at 3:20 p.m.
If they need to wait until after the conference for an older sibling, please take them to the gym where they will be supervised.

If you would like to see Ed, our School Counselor on this day, please schedule a time through Maki.

Student Led Conferences will be on Tuesday June 14 th.
This is an opportunity for your child to lead and take responsibility for their learning by sharing the process with you. They will share and reflect on samples of work from their portfolio. These samples will demonstrate growth in their learning throughout the year in all subjects as well as areas for improvement.
Please note that if your child is in K1 or K2, your child’s homeroom teacher will contact you separately and your conferences will be on the Tuesday 14th June in the morning.
This is a normal school day for students. Grade 1-8 sessions will be from 3:30p.m.- 5:30 p.m. There will be 4 half hour time slots with 5 possible booking slots per time slot.

  • 4:30-5:00
  • 5:00-5:30

N.B. Bookings for Student Led Conferences Tuesday 14th June

Parents with more than one child in TIS, the appointment booking system will open at 8:00 a.m. Sat June 4th.

Parents with 1x child in TIS, the system will open 8:00 a.m. Tues June 7th.
The bookings will close on Monday 13th June at 3:30p.m.

Students will remain at school until they have conducted their conference.
Primary students G1-5 students will be in the gym.
However, if you have a 3:30 slot, those students will be already in their classrooms awaiting your arrival.
For other time slots, please collect your child from the gym to go to the classroom for his/her conference,
All Middle School students requiring supervision will go to B2 and there will be rostered supervision.

N.B. You are only making one appointment with your child’s Homeroom Teacher.

If you are new to TIS this term, please make sure you have your login/password before the booking date. If you do not, please contact Nana. The booking procedure is the same as for other Parent Teacher Conferences. Please log onto Manab imon at http://manabimon.tokyois.com. When you get to the first landing page, you can go to the ‘Resources’ tab on the top bar if you need instructions on how to book. This is what you will see.
Ensure that you are in ‘Parent Resource Topics’ (1) and then click on ‘Making Appointments for PTC’s’ (2). Ensure you click on the BLUE line, not the title. You will be taken to this page. Please make sure to click on the pdf button (3). You will be taken to the ‘Making appointments for PTC’s’ resource sheet.

When you have selected the appropriate appointment slot, you will be sent a confirmation email. If you have any other issues please contact Mike.

If you are unable to attend during these time slots, please contact the Homeroom teacher directly to make alternative arrangements.



The TIS School Board and Teachers and staff are currently reviewing the Strategic Plan for 2016-2021. The key points in the feedback from the TIS Community Survey will be incorporated into the plan. Early in the new school year there will be another TIS Community Meeting during which the plan will be shared.



This process has been completed for the time being. New students are still being enrolled and will continue to be, right through until school starts again for the new school year on Monday, 22nd August. During the preceding week, your child(ren) will receive a welcome letter from their new teacher. Class lists are not published until then in case we need to make last minute adjustments as a result of new arrivals.
