Head of School’s Message

Dear Parents

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Everyone has been busy this week preparing for Parent Teacher Conferences on Monday and for the Middle School, Tuesday morning as well. There is no school for students on Monday. There will be a creche on Monday in the Lower School Building;

K1-G2 students to go to the 2F MPR
G3-8 students to the Learning Lab

Parents of Middle School students have the option of bringing their children to the interviews in the gym. The teachers will later revise our practices for conferences. There are several different models; parent/teacher, parent/teacher/student, or student-led conferences. We have tried all three models in the past and all have their merits. However, based on parent feedback, we changed when we moved to this campus of having parent/teacher conferences in terms 1 and 2 and student-led conferences in June.

Like all practices, they should be regularly reviewed and we will be asking you for your feedback, in the form of a very simple questionnaire, at these conferences.
Please note that there will be no parking on site.

TIS SATISFACTION SURVEY

Out of 216 TIS families, so far only 102 families have completed this survey. Thank you to those of you who have done so but this is a very disappointing percentage. If you cannot fill out the TIS Satisfaction Survey before Monday, please be prepared to at the conferences, where we will have laptops set up ready for you to access. It is extremely important that we have truly representative feedback from you all. ACCESS CLOSES on TUESDAY MIDDAY.

TIS GOT TALENT

Last Saturday morning 27 students from K2 to Grade 8 turned up to treat us to their various talents. This event was extremely well supported as you can see from the photos -proud parents! There were several piano items and violin, flute, vocal, dance, karate and mime all featured. This year we had a record number of middle school students participating which was great to see and what role models for the younger students to aspire to! Thank you to the PSA and especially Anna Hedve and Meg Cherry for their organisation and Aubrianne Perry for assisting and taking photos on the day and also to Brandon for supporting the organisers and accompanying and to Jamison for his assistance on the day.
